Everything You Might Be Wondering
The questions Vancouver dog owners ask us most. If yours is not here, call us — we would rather answer properly than have you guess.
Frequently asked questions
If your question is not here, call us — we would rather answer properly than guess.
It depends on your dog — their size, coat type, coat condition and how comfortable they are being handled all make a difference. A full groom generally takes longer than a bath and tidy. We will give you a realistic estimate when you book, and we would rather take our time than rush a dog who needs a slower pace.
Pricing depends on breed, size, coat condition and the services you would like, so we quote per dog rather than publishing a one-size-fits-all price list. Tell us about your dog and we will give you a clear price before anything is booked. Please give us a call on (236) 995-6167 and we will talk it through with you.
Yes — grooming is by appointment so we can give each dog our full attention. You can request a time through the booking form on this site or call us directly. A request is not confirmed until we have contacted you to arrange it.
We do. Our Puppy First Groom is built specifically around first-timers: we go slowly, keep things gentle and positive, and introduce your puppy to the bath, the dryer, brushing and having their paws and face handled. The aim is a puppy who is relaxed about grooming for the rest of their life.
Just your dog and anything that helps them settle. If your dog uses a particular shampoo, has known sensitivities, or has behaviour or handling needs we should know about, tell us when you book so we can prepare properly.
We assess the coat before we start. Light tangles can usually be brushed out comfortably. Severe matting is a different matter — brushing out a badly matted coat is painful and stressful, so a shorter haircut is often the kinder choice. We will always discuss it with you first. Additional charges may apply depending on coat condition and the extra time required.
Tell us your dog’s breed and approximate weight when you get in touch and we will confirm what we can accommodate and how long it is likely to take. Please give us a call on (236) 995-6167 and we will talk it through with you.
Absolutely — and photos help enormously. We will talk through what you have in mind and be honest about what will work with your dog’s coat type and current coat condition, so there are no surprises at pickup.
Yes. Nail trimming is included in our full groom and bath and tidy services, and can also be booked on its own as part of Nail & Paw Care. Nail grinding is available on request.
Yes — gentle external ear cleaning with dog-appropriate products, as part of routine grooming. It is cosmetic care rather than veterinary treatment, and if we notice anything unusual we may suggest you check in with your veterinarian.
Yes. Our daycare offers supervised daytime care with time to play, time to rest and individual attention. Get in touch about availability for the days you need.
We do offer pickup and return drop-off, but availability depends on your location, our schedule and the service booked — so it is offered by request rather than guaranteed. Ask when you book and we will confirm whether we can cover your address and give you an estimated pickup time.
Tell us before the appointment. Nervous dogs do far better when we know in advance and can plan for a slower, quieter session with breaks. Patience is the whole job — we would much rather split the work across visits than push a dog who has had enough.
Yes — many owners combine the two so their dog has a full day with us and goes home freshly groomed. Mention both when you make your request and we will arrange the timing.
If your dog needs more time than expected — heavy matting, a coat in poor condition, or simply needing a gentler pace — we will contact you before carrying on so you know what is involved and what it will cost. We will never add work without telling you first.
Please contact us about our current requirements for daycare before your dog’s first visit, and we will let you know exactly what to bring. Please give us a call on (236) 995-6167 and we will talk it through with you.
Still not sure?
Some things are much easier to sort out in a two-minute phone call than by reading a page. Give us a ring.
Ready to give your pup a spa day?
